The new version of 2B Secure 3.5 contains key enhancements which provide support to data protection officers with methodical processes and by supplying them with the necessary information. A practice handbook and a collection of current legislation has been integrated for this purpose. In addition the application now displays current and relevant news regarding data protection.
Practice Handbook
The practice handbook is designed primarily to tackle the topic of data protection in a company in a methodical manner, leaving no factual gaps. This book enables the company and external data protection officer to introduce data protection management into the company. It contains only the practical information the data protection officer needs to be successful in the company.
The current version 3.5 of the practice handbook contains an essential chapter on data protection organization. The subsequent releases will include the following chapters: "Data Protection Laws" (November 2009) and "Data Security and Protection" (May 2010). Additionally, the chapter "Data Protection and Software Development" is due for release in May 2011.
The practice handbook aims to provide assistance when introducing data protection in a company, as well as in everyday business. It also provides valuable tips and tricks for the further development of data protection.
Legislation
Again, based on the wishes of our clients, details of many of the items of legislation relevant to the work of a data protection officer have been incorporated into the application. The Federal Data Protection Act, the data protection legislation of the Länder, and European data protection directives have, of course, been included. Other key elements of the collection include "Safe Harbor" and legislation concerning telecommunications and social security data protection. The collection will be significantly expanded and updated in the next release.
Data Protection News
Current information as well as background reports are of particular importance, especially for data protection. However, they are often hard to come by or are strongly focused on a particular context. For this reason, 2B Advice has recently begun providing a news service, which can be received and displayed in 2B Secure. Data protection news from Germany and Europe, as well as important international reports, are available through this service. All articles have been independently researched and place particular emphasis on the importance and possible consequences of the news for occupational data protection and the companies affected.
Configurable Display
The practice handbook, legislation and data protection news displays are all configurable, and can be customized according to different user requirements.
