Amendments to the Federal Data Protection Act and the effect thereof on companies - Part 6
Pursuant to Section 4f (3), in the future, the dismissal of a data protection officer shall be prohibited and even if a data protection officer no longer holds this post, he/she continues to be protected against dismissal for one year. The exception to this rule is termination for good cause, which includes, e.g., dismissal without notice. In the future, companies will be required to ensure that data protection officers undertake further training. In future, companies must enable their data protection officers to participate in further training courses, i.e. must grant leave and assume the costs of the training event.
