    HTTPS encryption improves Google ranking

    Data protection officers now have another good argument for the use of HTTPS encryption for a company’s website. As Google announced in a message to administrators on 6 August 2014, in the future this security measure will improve websites’ ranking in the search result. The search algorithm of the search engines will be adjusted to also take this “ranking signal” into account.

    US: The email was sent to the wrong addressees - what now?

    A recent case in the US that is currently under discussion shows that the accidental forwarding of personal data or corporate secrets is only a mouse click away. An employee of the Goldman Sachs investment bank sent strictly confidential client data to a Google email account by mistake. Goldman Sachs now wants Google to delete the email and inform them which recipients have already opened the email.
